Help me pick my book topic

Each time I speak on book writing, I get the same question:

"How can I figure out what my book should be about?"

Choosing a book topic is both an art and a science. It requires using your head and your heart.

On the one hand, you must consider many practical aspects such as

  • How does this book build my business?

  • Who is my ideal reader and what does he/she need?

  • Do I have a list of people who would want to buy this book when it is ready?

  • Does this book contribute to my image as an expert?

  • How many people would be interested in this topic?

On the other hand, you must listen to your heart to learn

  • What message am I passionate to share?

  • What topic would thrill me for the next few years?
  • What topic do I want to immerse my self in and continue to learn about?

  • What do I want to be remembered for?

If you Use your head and your heart and then take a look at what materials you have already written that can be folded in to your book, you will select a book topic that succeeds!
